Where does the trash on the beach come from？Who makes it ？According to garbage statistics at international beach cleanups in recent years,the two biggest killers of marine garbage are disposable tableware and plastic bottles collected alone are disposable tableware and plastic garbage. The plastic bottles collected alone are stacked as high as 8.4 Taipei 101 buildings; the number of disposable tableware, calculated based on three meals per person, can last nearly 30 years. These wastes will not decompose after decades, not only isolating the distance between people and the sea, but also forcing marine life to eat the "junk food" produced by humans.
The garbage problem not only causes headaches for humans living on land, but more seriously, it unknowingly pollutes the ocean. Marine debris has a fatal impact on the natural ecology and human health.
Because this garbage comes from you and me, we have a responsibility to stop using garbage to continue harming the ocean, and our participation in beach cleanup monitoring is part of the solution.
